About This Site

This is a personal static site built with a custom Python static site generator using the Renoir template engine. I used to run a Wordpress site, but just felt that it was too much tool for what I wanted, but also didn't want to manually edit html.

With agent mode in copillot, I thought I'd give this idea a try, so this whole engine was built by an AI agent, I just provided prompts. I tried two different workflows during the build: 1. Chat mode in VSCode 2. Raising issues in Github and assigning them to Copilot.

And I must say, I prefer the second one by a country mile. You raise the issue, and a few minutes later you are asked to do a code review, if you're happy with the change, merge the PR, if not, give further instructions.

The repo is private, because I have not split my site content from the engine code, but at some point in the future I will do that, and then I'll make the code repo public. It is very much targeted at an audience of one, and the structure and content I want for my site, but you can easily adapt it with Copilot's help.

Before I forget, the site builds and publishes using Github actions, so I can edit and commit my changes from any device, including my phone and as soon as I push to Github, the site will publish the updated content.

Content

Content is my own, I don't use AI to write on my behalf, and the only editing I do on the images is to crop them.
